What's in a Cup?

I was staring, half-daydreaming, at the Starbucks cup of my classmate during class the other day...when a fascinating, or at least I thought, idea popped into my cluttered brain. This cup had 2RS, L etched into the column of black boxes lining the side of the cup. Two Raw Sugar Latte - I know the abbreviations, because, I work at Starbucks. As an employee, I have seen every possible combination of abbreviated letters imaginable and it has sparked an idea. Could those markings all all correspond to the cup owner's personality or character traits? Is it a mere coincidence that one man likes no foam in his latte, or she likes her macchiato at 180 degrees? Why only two raw sugars and not three, or maybe Splenda instead? Does it mean anything more? Does it go any deeper then ink splotches on a plastic cup? Do our caffeinated customizations give any clue, any insight into ourselves? Is the drink inside that cup a metaphor for the person inside of us? I would love to do a study on this. Probably only to find the two things completely unrelated, but I am so intrigued. Caffeinated beverages are such a huge part of our lives, or most. I would love to see if the correlation between a person and their drink was stronger then the coffee itself. If these drinks are more than just a jump start to our day.

This changed my mornings; now I start listening to every order people make and try to find some results!
